Arnell Robinson is an interesting individual. On the one hand, he is a consulting criminologist, an individual who studies human social behaviors, often doing so in the active service of law enforcement. ‘Active’ is the key word when it comes to Arnell. On the other hand, he is the assistant pastor at a church. He is uniquely able to marry these two seemingly contradictory vocations.

Not only marry but master.

Nigel Venali has begun to create a movement that attacks Christianity as the first of many targets he has in mind. The others include African-Americans, Jews and Hispanics. His intention is to bring down one church and use it as a template for bringing down others. Like anyone leading an irrational movement, Venali is fueled by his need for power and money.

Almost by random, Venali targets the Love and Light Church. This church is pastored by Father Cody Warren and Assistant Pastor Arnell Robinson. When attacked, they cannot discern why they have been targeted. As each incident escalates the harassment, Arnell seeks to determine why they have been chosen and how to stem the tide.

Tension mounts as Arnell gets closer to discovering the reasons for these assaults. The novel ends with an unexpected conclusion. Overall, it is a suspense novel that reads well while engaging the reader.
