EXILON
Exilon is science fiction, although not at all beyond the realm of possibility. The book takes place a few years into the future. At that time, one form of criminal punishment involves exiling prisoners to a planet called Exilon. It was chosen because it has the most common physical characteristics of Earth, especially atmosphere. Man can live there without the need for spacesuits or special breathing gear.
Three convicted men are deposited on this planet. Two of them, Adam Woodrow and Larry Dearborn, were wrongly convicted. They interact with the natives, called jericans, especially with their leader, Fligus. When ten hardened criminals are deposited there, Woodrow and Dearborn work with the natives to manage the brutal interface.
Complicating the matter is the fact that there is a civil war brewing concerning the planet’s leadership and form of government. Not wanting to be involved but given no choice, Woodrow and Dearborn participate.
The book reads easily and is appropriate for teenagers through adults.
