Starting Pitcher
The Wizard
Life can be an exciting rollercoaster ride. Corey Wisler was an All-American pitcher who was drafted into the Major Leagues in the first round. Before his career could get started, he was wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. When the actual murderer was identified, Corey was exonerated and freed…but it cost him four years of his life.
Even with those lost years, he was determined to see if he could still play professional baseball. Thanks to his coach at the University of Tennessee, he was given an opportunity to perform in front of some pro scouts. It became obvious to them that he still retained his pitching abilities. The Texas Rangers signed him to one of its minor league teams. He did well and was called up mid-season to be with the parent team.
This is the story of his performance as a Texas Ranger.
