The Brookville Murders

Four twelve-year-old friends spend a great deal of time together. One day, one of them asks what each wants to be when he grows up. One wants to be a police officer (like four generations preceding him), another a private eye (in the vein of Phillip Marlowe) and a third a lawyer. The fourth says that he wants to marry an heiress and live off her money.

Sixteen years later, all of their prophecies have come true. However, the heiress is murdered and her husband is the prime suspect. The policeman, now a detective, catches the case. The lawyer agrees to defend their friend. And the private eye is hired by the lawyer.

It appears to be an open-and-shut case. Means, motive and opportunity are all present. And the prime suspect is making things even more difficult for himself. Yet, there are quite a few others who could have committed the crime.

See how the investigation develops in this fast-paced crime novel. There are a number of credible but unexpected twists and turns throughout. If you like well-written crime stories, enjoy The Brookville Murders.
